I decided before my son was even born that I wanted to do a circus theme for his 1st birthday...I found some gift bags and a little notebook and it was my inspiration...once I started actually planning his party I kind of went from there...My Mother in Law helped me so much with the printables for his party and the food well many were ideas I kind of added on to from pinterest. I loved how it turned out...I had other things I wanted to do, but just ran out of time. I think it turned out great though and we had a great time celebrating my boys first year!!! I need to find my picture of the invitation and add it to this post...they were amazing!!! Thank you Grandma and YaYa for all your help...and a special thanks to my husband as well....you all helped make my ideas come to life. Happy Birthday to my sweet sweet clown of a boy!!!

Today..I'm just writing a little update to all that still come to this blog...not sure if anyone really does on a regular basis since I really only update it when I'm doing sessions. I hope to make that change soon...but only time will tell on that.

Lots of new and exciting things coming up in my world and...while I have a personal family blog that I share a lot of that stuff on...I want to start sharing parts of it here as well, since some of it really affects my love for photography...starting with the arrival of my new nephew that will be here very very soon. My sister has graciously given me the opportunity to be able to capture Baby Luke's arrival on the big day. Birth Photography has been a side of the photog world that has really interest me and while I'm usually on the other side of the camera in a birthing room :) (3 kiddos in the last 4 years) I hope that with this first birth under my belt that maybe I will be asked to share the beautiful moment through my lens with other families. What better way to explore this new adventure than with my first nephew on my side of the family :) If you can't tell...I'm rather excited for him to get here!!! Besides this awesome news I'm busy planning away for my son's first birthday party...yes, you read that right...my boy is turning 1!!! My does time fly when you are having fun :) I leave with you a few candid shots I have taken of my kiddos in the new year...some not the greatest exposure and what not...but to me it was about capturing the true emotions of these moments...as a Mom...I treasure every picture...not just the one's that are set up perfectly...actually I might treasure the "not so great one's" even more :) Hope you all have a lovely day...and please please please...keep checking in with me!!!

It was a mid December morning with a chill in the air...but I got to spend it with 2 of my most favorite people in the whole wide world...My sister and her handsome hubby. They are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first baby...Lucas Charles...I can't wait to meet my baby nephew...he's already stolen my heart. Mid December I had the pleasure of shooting one of my very best friend's family portraits. We had a fun time chasing after the little one's and capturing their family and extended family for some Christmas gifts. She also decided to do a few shots to announce that they are expecting their 3rd baby...so excited for them and can't wait to find out if they will be welcoming a pink or blue candy cane :) Love you guys!!!

I have been super super busy this season...been working hard on getting clients their galleries to view and their orders fulfilled...and well the blog has suffered :( I hate it...but I'm trying to catch up on all my sessions and getting them up on the blog...have about 5 or 6 more to post...have already kicked a few over onto my external hard drive so I'll have to get that out...having a good holiday season...gearing up for the festivities towards the end of the week...Hope you all have a great one!!!!

This is one of the most beautiful and amazing families I know...they just happen to be apart of my extended family and for that I feel very honored. Brady, the strapping young son just overcame a very extensive battle of brain cancer. The entire family moved to Houston for Brady's treatments in the Spring where they stayed for months. Through it all, he, like his parent showed the strength and courage that it takes to overcome something like he went through. He is a HERO in every sense of the word and so are his awesome parents....I feel blessed to call them both family and a friend. Through all the adversity they have stayed focused as to what their mission was...to get their son well. I know this is where Brady gets his courage. I love you guys and Thank you as always for allowing me to capture your special moments!!!

This last Sunday I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely Mommy & Daddy TO BE!!! The weather was soooo dreary outside, but you can't tell by the pictures because they seem to be glowing of excitement in anticipation for their little dude to arrive. My very dear friend Leah asked me to do these pictures months and months ago, like last fall...I was flattered that she wanted to wait for me to do them after I was back from my maternity leave from photography. I was worried about the horrific wind ruining the whole thing, but it let up just in time for the session and it was great. So...the first of January I had the huge honor of taking my twin sister's bridal portraits. The weather was rather dreary and COLD the day we planned them but me being about 36 weeks pregnant there was really no other time we could do them before her BIG day!!! So...we pushed on. And as you know it, the next weekend was a beautiful one...BOO!!! Oh Well...we got some pretty good shots. I wasn't really able to get some of the one's I was hoping for (with sun flares and what not)...but what do you do :( Anyways...without further ado...here is my beautiful sister!!!

Little Miss A made it to an Etsy listing yet again...I sent feedback in for the gorgeous peacock headband that I purchased recently for my baby prop box...and the designer just raved over the photographs :) I was actually blushing as I read her words to me...such a kind soul...here is some of the things she had to say...

This family means so much to me!!! I took these I guess almost 2 weeks ago...that is just how far behind I am in blogging :) I have several more sessions to blog. Anyhoo...this family is awesome. They are part of my family. The Dad is like a brother...he used to torture my sister and I when we were little right along side our Bubba...they were blood brothers...and best friends :) And the Mom is a good friend and a sister to us...guilty by association, right girl. They happened to purchase a package I put together last April for the CF benefit concert that we do annually - and we finally got a chance to get them taken for the holidays. Are their girl's not the cutest?!?!? I love how they look soooo much alike but different too...and that they have different color eyes...I didn't think it was possible for a girl to look more like her Daddy like G and B...but then came baby M...and well it's possible...she is a spitting image of B!!! I've been so extremely busy shooting, editing and putting together holiday cards for clients that I haven't even had time to think about blogging...I guess being the part-time photog this time of year is kind of hard...when trying to fulfill every aspect of the job - plus all my other duties. I am working diligently on getting orders out for my clients right now...but have 4 shoots to share with you very soon...hopefully this week sometime. Here's a client's favorite I thought I'd share...are they not the cutest dang family you have ever seen :) Love'em!!! Can't wait to share more!!!

Just letting everyone know...December 15th will be the deadline for holiday orders. All orders should be placed by 7 pm on Wednesday, December 15 to ensure their arrival before the holidays. The lab is doing everything they can to crank items out as soon as I place the order, but as the holidays approach us, it gets harder and harder. So, be safe and place your order ASAP!

Also, I will be on vacation and maternity leave from December 15th through the Spring of 2011. I will be taking a few sessions here and there for my baby planners and for my sister's bridal session, but other than that I will be on leave. I will however be available for orders if need be once the new year is here, so if you need prints, please do not hesitate to send me a message.

I've been waiting to shoot this little guy for quite some time...lil Jax had a rough couple of first weeks here in the big world and then his entire family came down with the stomach flu...just everything all at once...so here he is at 6 weeks in all of his cuteness. I attempted to do this shoot last night after work and while I was optimistic I'd get every shot I went into getting...I didn't - I think one because I was soooo excited and two because I knew I only had an hour or less of daylight left :( Have I mentioned how much this time of year is not easy on us natural light photographers :) This is the first time I've ever had to plan on a re-shoot...luckily it's with one of my bestest friends and we don't mind finding more time to hang out...Hopefully this weekend I'm able to finish up his session :)

I shot this family last week and had a great time. These 2 little girls reminded me a lot of mine...kept me on my toes, but in a great way. Their Momma and I met online years ago when I was pregnant with my oldest...we first bonded over similar taste in very cute nursery decor :) and we have kept in touch since. We both have a passion for photography...Robin's work is great and I can't wait till she shoots our family. She also has a very cute shop through Etsy...and I just wish I had all of those cute leggings for my girls :) Thanks for the great evening K family and I look forward to many more sessions through the years :)

I am booking up fast for the next few weeks and months. If you are interested in booking a holiday session or mini session with me please send me an email so that we can talk about a time to get that scheduled. Also, if you are interested in a mini session for a family portrait for the Holidays let me know - I know time is precious this time of year so I am more than willing to work out a mini session deal for you. I am taking off some time the next few weeks to get my new house in order and hopefully get my studio up and running in my home for newborn and children sessions. I am doing holiday cards this year and I am very excited to show you my first one for the season...it turned out amazing!!! {this would be something I would probably work into a Holiday mini session package}

my attempts at posting while I was out of town failed miserably...huh :/

we had Internet but it was much slower to do post than I anticipated and the few posts I was able to do on my personal blog...took forever to upload. I do have pictures of the girls I took and some few 100's I haven't even touched or even looked at since we've been home. we have had a ton of stuff going on since our return...the main thing...we have a contract on our house...which means we are now looking for a new home...which means every evening has been looking at houses and trying to plan our next move. I hope to get some of my pictures up in the next few days....HOPING!!! I have a shoot this weekend and next...so I do have some sessions coming up that I'll be sharing...

hope all my loyal readers are still hanging in there...I've been neglecting this blog and for that I feel horrible...

It's been slow for me the last few weeks, think it might have to do with the nasty hot weather....boo. We are heading for THE HILLS on Friday (AKA. Colorado)...so I plan to get some much needed pictures of the girls taken...and maybe even some early early maternity pictures of me and our little guy...YES THAT'S RIGHT...I said GUY!!!! We are expecting our first son. We are beyond excited...and can't wait to see what is in store for us and our little family :) Thanks for sticking around...and keep looking back for some new pictures of the vacation and I know I'll be taking some time to get some scenery pictures...I love them!!! Meet Baby Girl Hobbs...isn't she a beauty!!! I finally got my first girl newborn to shoot and had a blast :) She was so alert that she didn't want to sleep much...for 11 days old she didn't want to miss a thing. I finally got a little time to finish Vince's set...I think he is one of the cutest things I have ever seen in my life...I had such a fun time with him. I tried to get a few poses that I've really been trying to master, but they just didn't work - I'll get them one day...I'm hoping to get back over to work with Vinnie again for some practice :) Thanks Keith and Jennifer for allowing me to capture these moments for you guys...such a beautiful time in your lives!!! here are a few things i have put together for some clients...the first is a stand-out...it's basically a picture mounted on a ready made piece to hang. it is much like a canvas but still an actual photography and has black plastic sides on it as support. the one in this picture is a 16x20. the next is a storyboard i did for a client. it is also 16x20, but i start them on 8x10 - it's a collage basically that i mount on styrene to give it some stability and it is ready to frame once you receive it.

Perfection is what this baby boy is...I can't wait to get through his set of pictures...I just got home from taking his newborn pictures and at 12 days old he rocked it!!! Baby Vince is gorgeous just like his Momma and Daddy and I'm so excited to watch this little boy grow into the cutie pie that he is destin to be!!! I have been saving this pose just for this little guy and while Mommy and Daddy were nervous...well so was I, since it was my first time...we totally got the shot!!! WooHoo!!! OMG is this Bride not GORGEOUS!!! She actually made my first bridal not so hard on me :) I had a TON of fun with her session and it wasn't like work at all. We drove around the golf course finding places to shoot and even got to play with a monkey :) yes, you read that right!!! We shot at a friend of her family's late front home and they have 2 monkeys...Romo was the one I got to meet and play with. So cute.
